Mr Owolabi Bello, the African Democratic Congress (ADC) candidate for Lagos West Senatorial District, says the party has commenced grassroots mobilisation and consultations across the district to strengthen its structure ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Bello disclosed during an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lagos, on Tuesday.
He said that the exercise was aimed at expanding the party’s membership and deepening engagement with residents.
“We are taking our message to the grassroots because every successful political movement is built on the support and participation of the people.
“Our consultations and ward meetings will further unite members and attract new supporters,” he said.
Bello urged residents to embrace issue-based politics and participate actively in the democratic process.
He said that sustained engagement with communities remained critical to good governance.
The candidate expressed confidence that the mobilisation campaign would position the ADC for greater electoral success in 2027.
“Our focus is to build a strong, inclusive and people-centred political platform that reflects the aspirations of Lagos West residents.
“We believe grassroots participation is the foundation of sustainable democracy,” he said.
Bello urged residents of Lagos West to support issue-based politics and participate actively in the democratic process.
He added that politics and leadership should be service and development rather than personal interests.
The candidate expressed confidence that sustained grassroots mobilisation would position the ADC as a credible alternative in future elections.
“We remain committed to building a people-oriented political platform that prioritises good governance, accountability and sustainable development for all residents of Lagos West,” he said. (NAN)
