Late OCHA Brigade Commander Kenneth Okonkwo
Anambra’s capital city, Awka, was in the early hours of Thursday jolted with the news of the sudden demise of Kenneth Okonkwo, Commander of OCHA Brigade, a security network set up by Governor Willie Obiano and popularly called Obiano Police, to help control traffic in the state and also work to improve the state’s internally generated revenue (IGR).
According to the information gathered by News Express, Okonkwo had just returned to the state from United States, where he went to celebrate Governor Obiano’s daughter’s graduation from an American university.
Shortly after his return, he attended the wake keep of an undisclosed person and while leaving the venue of the event, he told his driver not to drive him and took over the steering, with the driver in the front passenger seat.
Information has it that shortly after leaving the venue of the wake keep, Okonkwo was involved in an accident which instantly killed the driver. Okonkwo was rushed to the hospital where he died in the morning (Thursday).
The dreaded Okonkwo was recently in the news over the alleged illegal demolishing of houses in Nkwelle Ezunaka over an alleged fee that he asked house owners in the new estate to pay or have their houses demolished.
