Suspected kidnappers have abducted three teachers of Ebomisi Secondary school, Ugbogiobo village in Ovia North East local government area of Edo State.
“The abductors seized the three teachers from among six along the Benin-Akure road as they were returning from school. They are demanding for N30 million,” a report this morning in Daily Trust said.
It said that students of the school yesterday abandoned classes and took to the Benin-Akure expressway to protest the abduction of their teachers. “They set up bonfires on the road which left passengers and motorists stranded for several hours,” the paper reported.
“Asked on phone for comment yesterday, the Edo State Police Public Relations officer, DSP Moses Nkombe, said yesterday he was in Abuja for a conference,” the report added.
