Osun State Police Command on Friday arraigned an herbalist, Jelili Raji, 32, and Tiamiyu Kabiru, 27, before Osogbo Magistrate Court III for being involved in the alleged murder of a student of Osun State University, Miss Rofiat Adebisi Damilola.
Raji was arraigned on two-count charges of conspiracy and murder while Kabiru was arraigned on a court charge of receiving unlawfully one Samsung DVD player property of the deceased from one Elijah Oyebode.
The police prosecutor, Mereti Wilson, told the court that Kabiru committed an offence contrary to and punishable under section 427 of the Criminal Code, Cap 34, Volume II Laws of Osun State of Nigeria, 2002.
He added that Raji too committed an offence contrary to and punishable under section 324 and 319(1), Laws of Osun State of Nigeria, 2002.
The counsel to Kabiru, Mr Ngwoke K E urged the court to grant him bail in the most liberal term and assured that his client has reliable sureties and would not jump bail if granted.
In her ruling, Magistrate Habibat Basiru ordered Raji to be remanded at Ilesa Prison custody and granted Kabiru the bail of N50,000 with two sureties.
She also advised the prosecutor to get a legal advice from the Directorate of Public Prosecution’s office and then transferred the case to Court IV where a sister case is pending.
