The 2017 Weapons Championship of the Nigerian Army will be held in Sambisa Forest, the former fortress of Boko Haram terrorists recently recaptured and liberated by the Nigerian military, it was announced on Wednesday.

Director of Army Public Relations, Brigadier General Sani Kukasheka Usman, said ina statement, a copy of which was made available to News Express: “The Nigerian Army Engineers (NAE) Corps in a bid to actualise the directive of the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Tukur Yusufu Buratai, of holding this year’s Nigerian Army Small Arms Championship (NASAC 2017), in Sambisa Forest, Borno State, has mobilised to site and commenced access roads clearance and construction of range and other facilities.”
