MultiChoice has discontinued the Africa Magic Family channel, ending its 12-year run on DStv.
The pay-TV operator replaced it with Africa Magic+, which launched on Wednesday, November 5, at 6 am WAT, as part of a wider review of its channel line-up and bouquets.
Africa Magic announced the change on its official Instagram page, where the brand said goodbye to the old channel and welcomed a new era.
“Goodbye, Africa Magic Family. Africa Magic Family is officially closed; there’s so much more coming your way.”
It promised viewers an upgraded experience on the new channel.
“More stories, more drama, more variety. Expect more on Africa Magic+ from November 5, 6 AM WAT,” it said.
Launched 12 years ago, Africa Magic Family grew into one of DStv’s most recognisable channels, offering family-friendly Nollywood films, Nigerian drama series and a slate of African entertainment programmes. Nigerianews subscription
