ITALIAN mechanic and fabricator, Andrea Marazzi, has achieved a significant milestone by earning a Guinness World Records title for building the world’s thinnest drivable car.

The highly-innovative car measured only 50.20 centimetres (19.76 inches) across.

Marazzi built the record-breaking car over 12 months using a salvaged 1993 Fiat Panda from his family’s car dismantling business. He modified the original chassis while retaining some essential body panels and components from the vehicle.

The unusual single-occupant car is powered by an electric motor and can successfully reach speeds of up to 15 kilometres per hour. Despite its very narrow structure, the vehicle is fully functional and designed to be driven.

Guinness World Records officially recognisedMarazzi’s accomplishment in BagnoloCremasco, Italy. The vehicle’s width was measured at 50.20 centimetres, making it the world’s thinnest car.

The project displays Marazzi’s mechanical and metal fabrication skills, revolutionising parts from a salvaged Fiat Panda into a working micro-vehicle.

Unlike a conventional concept car, which is particularly designed to display, Marazzi’s creation was built to operate on the road and accommodate one occupant. Its compact dimensions make it an unusual example of creative automotive engineering.

Moreover, the record-breaking car has also been featured in the Guinness World Records 2027 book that underscores the latest records accomplished globally.

Marazzi’s phenomenal creation underscores how innovative engineering, fabrication skills and recycled automotive components can be combined to create a fully functional vehicle.

The tiny electric car now holds a unique place among the world’s most unusual Guinness World Records achievements.
