By GARBA MUHAMMAD
The Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), Ambassador Ismail Abba Yusuf, has expressed deep sorrow over the death of Hajiya Zainab Saleh Usman, wife of the immediate past Chairman of the Commission, Prof. Abdullahi Saleh Usman.
In a condolence message issued by the Commission's management, Ambassador Abba Yusuf described the loss as painful and prayed for Almighty Allah to grant Prof. Abdullahi Saleh Usman, his family and loved ones the strength and fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
The NAHCON chairman, who is currently away on an official engagement, delegated a three-member board contingent to pay a condolence visit to the former chairman.
The delegation comprised Prof. Musa Bin Fodio, Ambassador Ahmed Sule and Ambassador Rabiu Lawal.
Ambassador Abba Yusuf said the Commission shares in the grief of the former NAHCON chairman and stands in solidarity with him and his family during the difficult period.
He prayed to Allah (SWT) to forgive the shortcomings of the deceased, widen and illuminate her grave, and grant her eternal rest in Aljannatul Firdaus.
He also prayed that Allah grants Prof. Abdullahi Saleh Usman, members of his family and all those affected by the loss patience, comfort and steadfastness in faith.
"NAHCON prays that Almighty Allah, in His infinite mercy, repose the soul of the deceased, reward her for her good deeds, and make her final abode Jannatul Firdaus," the statement said.
The Commission further prayed for peace and comfort for the bereaved family.
