A 14-year-old girl has been arrested after a knife attack at a Manchester school left three people injured.
The Incident occurred on Tuesday morning at the Co-op Academy on Plant Hill Road in Blackley, prompting the school to go into lockdown as emergency measures were activated.
According to Greater Manchester Police (GMP), those injured include a 14years old girl, a 14years old boy and a 27years old male staff member. All three were transported to hospital for treatment, with authorities stating that their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
Police said the teenage suspect was arrested on suspicion of section 18 assault and is currently in custody. Officers added that no additional suspects are being sought in connection with the incident.
Staff at the school are reported to have quickly intervened, detaining the girl before police arrived at the scene shortly afterwards.
Chief Inspector Jon Shilvock said the situation was brought under control rapidly, adding that there is no indication of any wider threat to the public. He stated that police presence would remain in and around the school to provide reassurance and support to the community.
Authorities say investigations are ongoing as the school community continues to recover from the shock of the incident. (AriseNews TV)
