A breakthrough has been recorded in the efforts by the Nigerian Government to recover looted funds stashed in the United States of America by some of the country’s former leaders. Specifically, the U.S. Government has agreed to return $1 million looted by late former governor of Bayelsa State, Chief Diepreye Alamieyeseigha. The Muhammadu Buhari administration has already given the outgoing Barack Obama administration a Federal Government of Nigeria account into which the money should be paid.
