The leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Elijah Ayodele, has cautioned Bola Ahmed Tinubu against relying completely on northern governors for his reported second-term ambition ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Primate Ayodele, in a statement signed by his media aide, Osho Oluwatosin, alleged that not all northern governors are genuinely committed to Tinubu’s re-election bid.
According to him, some governors allegedly have personal political agendas that may eventually work against the president’s ambition.
“President Tinubu should watch against being betrayed at the last minute by northern governors. Not all of them are with him for his second-term bid,” he stated.
The cleric warned that the president could face political setbacks if he fails to closely monitor developments within his political camp.
“Many of them have their own agenda, and it may be too late for the president to discover. If he isn’t careful, their betrayal will consume his ambition. He needs to watch and be on alert; not all of them are with him,” he added.
Primate Ayodele also predicted that the forthcoming party primaries across political parties would lead to the political downfall of several influential figures.
According to him, internal party contests would produce unexpected outcomes, including within the ruling All Progressives Congress.
“A lot of people will cry, powerful people will fall across political parties, including the APC. Not all the people following Tinubu and singing on your mandate will survive it,” he stated.
The cleric’s comments come amid growing political realignments, consultations, and preparations by political parties ahead of the 2027 elections. (Tribune News)
