Former Minister of Transportation, Amaechi
Former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, has declared that the African Democratic Congress (ADC) is determined to unseat the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, following the party’s national convention held in Abuja.
Amaechi, a presidential aspirant on the ADC platform, made the remarks in a statement on Wednesday, a day after the convention, describing the gathering as a reflection of the party’s resolve to challenge the current government.
“The success of yesterday’s convention is a testament that the ADC in partnership with the Nigerian people is courageous and determined to take out the Tinubu-led undemocratic government, and this is non-negotiable,” he said.

He urged party members and supporters to remain united in pursuit of the party’s objective, stressing the need for collective effort.
“We must strive as a party and as a people to achieve our goal by working together against all odds,” Amaechi stated.
The former Rivers State governor also called on party stakeholders to rally behind a strong candidate ahead of future elections.
“Like I said at the convention, we must be decisive and rally around a viable candidate. We must stick together and show this wicked and unreasonable tyrant government of the APC out of power,” he added.
Amaechi further expressed concern over the state of the nation, saying Nigerians have endured significant hardship under the current administration.
“Nigerians have suffered enough. We will work with the majority of Nigerians to restore dignity to our country and people,” he said.
He pledged that the ADC would prioritise security and governance reforms if elected, noting that the party is committed to ensuring “that safety of lives and property of our citizens and residents everywhere in the country is sacrosanct.”
Amaechi also promised to restore democratic values, adding that the party would work “to bring to bear a government that is transparent, responsible, and accountable to the people.” (Vanguard)
