Over 100 person have been reported killed in a deadly attack by Boko Haram insurgents at Gujba town, Yobe State, in the troubled north-eastern region of Nigeria.
A breaking news flashed by Vanguard newspaper says that the insurgents stormed the town yesterday and attacked the police post, killing many of them while others fled for their safety.
It quotes a source as revealing that when the insurgents could not meet with the DPO of Buni-yadi, they went to his residence but could not find him hence they decided to killed the wife.
“For now entrance to Gujba town in and out has been closed down indefinitely to motorists,” says the report, which says the incident was confirmed by an unnamed spokesman of the Joint Military Task Force (JTF).
The incident happened just as shock is still trailing Tuesday evening’s massacre of over 160 persons when heavily armed insurgents laid siege on Benisheik, Kaga Local Government Area oof neighbouring Borno State, killing people and setting buildings ablaze. And early this morningin the Nigerian capital, Abuja, dare-devil Boko Haram warriors attacked a detachment of the State Security Service (SSS) on duty in the neighbourhood of Apo Legislative Quarters. Seven persons reportedly died in the exchange of gunfire while several others sustained injuries.
