It further announced plans to vigorously pursue and prosecute persons involved in graft.
At an official launch of a new initiative of the commission tagged Creative Youth Initiative Against Corruption, the Chairman of the Commission, Mr Ibrahim Magu, said more arrests would be made in the days ahead.
He stressed that the commission was out to ensure the conviction of all corrupt persons.
Mr Magu further advised Nigerian youths to shun acts of corruption by emulating honest and hardworking Nigerians who have become successful without pilfering the collective resources of the nation.
The project coordinator of the Creative Youth Initiative Against Corruption, Foluke Michael, stressed the need to creatively engage the youths in the fight against corruption.
The commission is currently prosecuting some prominent Nigerians who were in previous administration of Goodluck Jonathan and some other persons indicted for corruption.
The opposition Peoples Democratic Party had raised concerns over the anti-corruption campaign of the present administration, claiming it is one-sided.
Last week, a former Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Usman O. Jibrin and two others were brought before an Abuja High Court by the EFCC on a four-count charge bordering on criminal conspiracy.
The two others, Rear Admiral Bala Mshelia (rtd) and Rear Admiral Shehu Ahmadu (rtd), were docked alongside Habour Bay International Limited.
The naval chiefs whilst in office allegedly bought a house worth N600 million from the account of Naval Engineering Services without the said purchase contract being captured in the budget.
The anti-graft agency had on September 23 said over one billion naira proceeds of corruption had been recovered from individuals in the South-South region of Nigeria between January and September 2016, with 24 convictions.
This is according to the zonal head of the EFCC, Mr Ishaq Saliu.
He said this in Port Harcourt when some Niger Delta youths took a protest to the commission’s office over alleged lopsidedness in the anti-corruption campaign.
According to them, the ongoing matter involving the former first lady, Patience Jonathan and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over the monies found in her account to the tune of 15 million dollars, has brought the current campaign. (Channels TV)
