Rains likely today in 21 Nigerian towns —NiMET (PLUS: Full list)

The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NIMET) has made the following predictions about Nigerian weather condition for today, Wednesday, September 21, 2016:

NORTHERN STATES: Partly cloudy to cloudy conditions are expected in the morning hours while there are prospects of thunderstorms in the afternoon/evening period over Maiduguri, Damaturu, Potiskum, Nguru, Katsina, Kano, Zaria, Gusau and Yelwa. Maximum temperatures for the day are expected to be in the range of 29 – 30°C.

CENTRAL STATES: Cloudiness should be the prevailing weather in the morning except around Mambilla Plateau where rains are likely. Pockets of thunderstorm activities are anticipated over parts of Abuja, Plateau, Nassarawa, Benue, Taraba, Bauchi, Kogi, Niger and Kwara within the afternoon/evening period. Maximum temperatures for the day are expected to be in the range of 26 – 30°C.

SOUTHERN STATES: The coastal cities of Lagos, Port Harcourt, Eket, Yenagoa, Calabar, and inland cities of Benin, Ikom, Enugu and Ijebu-Ode have prospects of morning rains. Areas expected to be affected by afternoon rains include the coastal cities and places around Enugu, Onitsha, Awka, Ebonyi, Owerri, Port Harcourt, Calabar, Ogoja, Akure, Oshogbo, Ado-Ekiti, Benin, Asaba, Shaki, Abeokuta and Warri. Maximum temperatures for the day are expected to be in the range of 32 – 34°C.
