Lagos Judiciary set to commence 2016/2017 legal year

The Lagos State Judiciary has outlined activities to mark the commencement of 2016/2017 legal year with worship services to be held simultaneously at the Cathedral Church Marina, Lagos and the Central Mosque, Lagos on Monday, September 26, 2016 from10.00am.

Chief Registrar of the High Court of Lagos State, Mr. E. O. Ogundare in a release on Tuesday stated that the week-long activities to mark the commencement of the legal year will include a visit to Ikoyi Prisons by the Chief Judge of Lagos State, Hon. Justice Funmilayo Atilade; a stakeholders summit themed “Mental Health Issues And The Law” and a novelty match between members of the Bench (Judges) of Lagos State and the Honourable Members of the State House of Assembly.

The activities ushering in the new legal year will be rounded off with a dinner (strictly by invitation) at the Banquet Hall of the Nigerian Law School on Friday, September 30, 2016 by 6pm.
