
The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NIMET) has made the following predictions about Nigerian weather condition for today, Sunday, September 18, 2016:
NORTHERN STATES: The northeastern cities are likely to be cloudy with places like Gusau, Sokoto and Yelwa having chances of morning thunderstorms. Later in the day, cloudy to partly cloudy conditions will prevail over the region with localised thunderstorms anticipated over Kano and Katsina. Maximum temperatures of the day over this region are expected to be in the range of 30 – 32°C.
CENTRAL STATES: Increased cloudiness is expected over the central cities with localised thunderstorms expected over Yola, Bauchi, Jos, Lafia and Makurdi in the morning hours. There are chances of thunderstorms affecting Kaduna, Lafia, Jos, Bauchi, Lokoja and some parts of Abuja later in the day. Maximum temperatures of the day over this region are expected to be in the range of 25 – 30°C.
SOUTHERN STATES: In the morning hours, localised rains are probable over the inland of the southeast and cities like Shaki and Iseyin in the southwest. Also, parts of some coastal cities like Lagos, Port Harcourt and Calabar should expect the same. Later in the day localized thunderstorms/rains are expected over the entire inland cities, including coastal cities like Lagos, Port Harcourt, Yenagoa, Eket and Calabar. Maximum temperatures of the day over this region are expected to be in the range of 28 – 29°C.
