
The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NIMET) has made the following predictions about Nigerian weather condition for today, Saturday, September 17, 2016:
NORTHERN STATES: The northwestern cities should expect cloudy morning with places like Maiduguri, Damaturu, Nguru, Yelwa and environs having chances of morning thunderstorms. Later in the day, there are prospects of localised thunderstorms over the northern cities like Kano, Gusau, Sokoto and Yelwa.
Maximum temperatures of the day over this region are expected to be in the range of 30 – 32°C.
CENTRAL STATES: While localised thunderstorms are expected over Yola, Bauchi, Jos and some parts of Abuja, the rest of the cities in this region should experience cloudy morning. However, there are chances of thunderstorms affecting, Minna, Bida, Ilorin and some parts of Abuja later in the day. Maximum temperatures of the day over this region are expected to be in the range of 25 – 30°C.
SOUTHERN STATES: Increased cloudiness is expected over the inland cities of the southwest except places like Abeokuta, Ijebu Ode and Akure and the entire coast with chances of localised rains, while localised thunderstorms/rains are not unlikely over the cities in the southeast in the morning hours.
Later in the day localised thunderstorms/rains are expected over the entire inland cities, including coastal cities like Lagos, Delta, Port Harcourt, Yenegoa and Calabar. Maximum temperatures of the day over this region are expected to be in the range of 28 – 30°C.
