In a move highlighting its commitment to youth empowerment and gender inclusion in technology, Tech Powerhouse, TD Africa, appointed 11-year-old Elizabeth Osagie Omonefe as CEO for a day. The young beneficiary of TD Africa’s scholarship scheme stepped into the role on September 8, demonstrating that the future of Africa’s technology leadership starts with investing in young minds today.

Elizabeth’s one-day leadership experience at TD Africa was more than symbolic; it was a clear statement of the company’s dedication to creating opportunities for young people to explore the possibilities of technology and innovation. Speaking after her day in office, Miss Elizabeth expressed her excitement: “I am very happy to have been made TD Africa’s CEO of the day. I got to listen to tech experts during strategic meetings, and it increased my passion to go into the tech space. I want to also thank Mrs. Chioma Ekeh for allowing me to step into her role for a day; this means a lot to me,” she said.
