The Kebbi State Government has announced the appointment of Alhaji Sanusi Mika’ilu Sami as the new Emir of Zuru.

Presenting the letter of appointment on Thursday, August 28, 2025, in Zuru, the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Garba Umar Dutsin-Mari, said the choice followed the recommendation of the Zuru Emirate Emir-ship Election Committee.

According to him, out of the three candidates who applied and were screened for the position, Alhaji Sanusi Mika’ilu Sami secured the highest votes, thereby clinching the throne.

The Commissioner explained that the appointment became necessary following the demise of His Royal Highness, the late Emir of Zuru, Alhaji Muhammad Sani Sami Gomo II, who died on August 16, 2025, in a London hospital.

Dutsin-Mari expressed gratitude to the Kebbi State Governor for approving the appointment and urged the new royal father to justify the confidence reposed in him.

He further advised the monarch to discharge his responsibilities diligently and with the fear of God Almighty.
