Spain this Tuesday evening, July 14, 2026, once more showed that they know how to beat mighty France by neutralisng them to qualify for the final of the 2026 World Cup.
The European champions dazed the 2022 World Cup finalists in the first semi-final match played at Dallas Stadium in the United States of America (USA), winning with two unreplied goals.
The Spaniards virtually rendered the dreaded French trio of Michael Oliseh, Ousmane Dembele and Kylian Mbappe impotent, dominating both possession and goal-hunting.
They took the lead in the 22nd minute via a well-taken Mikel Oyarzabal penalty after wonderkid Lamine Yamal was fouled by Digne in the vital area.
The eventual winners doubled their lead shortly on the restart after Pedro Porro struck in the 58th minute.
Spain will meet either Argentina or England, who play in the second semi-final tomorrow, while France will meet the loser in the third-place match.
