Ali Isa Pantami, former Minister of Communications and Information Technology
Former Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Professor Isa Ali Pantami, has said that the vision and mission of the Obidient Movement is that Nigeria needs to enshrine good democratic principles in the country.
Prof. Pantami made this known on Monday, while in audience with the leadership of the Obidient Movement at his Abuja residence.
The former NITDA DG further highlighted key issues politicians vying for elective positions should bring to the table, saying that such issues are lacking.
“We should be able to take a look at what the people want, not what we need as individuals, and when we give back to the people what they do desire, it means good representation.
“We should also look beyond ethnicity and political divide in building a country of our dreams. We should be able to give honour to whom it is due.
“Today in Nigeria, some of us represent ourselves and families, leaving the masses to groan in penury”.
“I align with the mission and vision of the Obidient Movement, and this is all about the demand for good governance and leadership in Nigeria. And this is well captured by Mr. Peter Obi, the leader of this movement. And it shows he is a visionary leader.
Speaking earlier, National Coordinator of the Obidient Movement, Dr. Tanko Yunusa, revealed that the movement cuts across the length and breadth of the country, with people from all ethnic groups and religions. And political divides among them.
“The Obidient Movement is a movement of like progressive minds; such people are cut across the academic, philanthropic, professional, and youth sectors. The like-minded are in every political party in Nigeria, and we are still building the bridges to connect every Nigerian under one umbrella.
“I can tell you that Professor Pantami is a progressive mind and a youth who sees the potential of Nigeria coming through good governance.”
The Obidient Movement earlier vowed to mobilise over 200 million Nigerians for voter registration preparatory to the 2027 general elections. (Daily Sun)
