Gov Oyebanji of Ekiti State
Ekiti State governor, Mr. Biodun Oyebanji, has expressed disappointment over the conduct of some of his political appointees whom he accused of not defending his administration on the social media platforms.
Governor Oyebanji, in a viral video clip seen by our correspondent, also accused such appointees of “eating from both sides” and failing to defend the government they serve.
“We need to seize the social media space. It’s not as if they’re winning the battle, but some of you, my appointees, because they’re eating from both sides, they cannot even come out and defend the government. I’m telling you. Very few of them, they will be on platforms where they’re attacking us and they will keep mute.
“They won’t be able to talk and they’re collecting salaries every month. I’m marking them one by one. I’m not going to talk now, but be rest assured, those of you that are on the platforms where they’re dragging us and you kept quiet, and you’re collecting money from this administration, we will come for you at the appropriate time.”
The Ekiti State governorship election is scheduled to hold in 2026 with bigwigs in the All Progressives Congress (APC) recently endorsing the reelection bid of Governor Oyebanji.
Among those that have endorsed the incumbent governor includes a former governor of the state, Ayodele Fayose of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who has also expressed confidence in the leadership of Oyebanji to continue beyond 2026. (LEADERSHIP)
