President Tinubu chairing the recent FEC meeting
The Federal Economic Council (FEC) has approved 2025/2026 Group Life Assurance Scheme for federal public servants.
Among the beneficiaries of this scheme are President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Vice President Kashim Shettima, other top government officials and federal public servants civil servants in Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs), as well as military and paramilitary personnel.
Tinubu’s Personal Assistant on Special Duties, Kamorudeen Yusuf disclosed this in a statement.
“President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration has reaffirmed its commitment to worker welfare and institutional compassion with the approval of the 2025/2026 Group Life Assurance Scheme for federal public servants and top government officials including himself and the Vice President,” the statement read in part.
Yusuf noted that 17 insurance firms have been appointed to administer the life assurance scheme and ensure families of federal civil servants are not left without support when their relative passes on.
The aide further noted that this scheme is more than a financial safeguard for federal public servants but also reveals the President’s commitment to ensuring the welfare of civil servants.
“This is more than a financial safeguard. It is a humane and forward-looking policy that recognises the sacrifices of public servants. The Renewed Hope Agenda continues to elevate dignity, stability, and security for Nigeria’s workforce,” Kamorudeen noted. (The Guardian)
