Asawana Deadly Force of Niger Delta (ADFND), the new group that recently announced its emergence as a militant group, has vowed to blow up major bridges and Bonga Field oil installation if the Federal Government fails to prevail on major oil companies to relocate their headquarters to the region.

The group which recently claimed to have taken over from the Niger Delta Avengers named the multi-billion dollar Bonga Field as one of its prime targets. Other national assets on its hit list are Niger Bridge and Third Mainland Bridge.

Bonga Field, it said in a release signed by its leader, Commander Olomubini Kakarakokoro (a.k.a No Mercy), would be brought down Saturday July 2.

The group which said that the statement was not a “mere threat” also wants the Federal Government to move all refineries in the country to the Niger Delta region before the date of the commencement of the bombing.

“We are bombing Bonga field, Onitsha-Asaba bridge, Third Mainland Bridge, and other major bridges across the southern part of the country on Saturday 2nd July, 2016.

“This is not a mere threat. The only way out is for the Federal Government to relocate all headquarters of major oil companies to Niger Delta. They are built with our oil money. They must be moved back to the Niger Delta region.

“If the Federal Government fails before the said day, we shall surely carry out the attack.

According to the statement the oil companies” headquarters which the group wants relocated to the region are Chevron, Agip and Shell which have their headquarters in Lagos but which operates mainly in the Niger Delta. (Independent)
