The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMET) has made the following predictions about Nigeria’s weather condition for today, Saturday, February 13, 2016:
NORTHERN STATES: Maiduguri, Nguru, Kano, Katsina, Sokoto and Yola will experience dust haze in moderate visibility values. Night time temperatures are expected to be in the range of 10-17oC.
CENTRAL STATES: Dust haze conditions are also expected over Abuja, Bida, Lafia, Ilorin and Makurdi with visibility values in the range 2-5km. few locations may however be less than 1,000m. Night time temperatures are expected to be in the range of 16-21oC.
SOUTHERN STATES: Mist/fog patches are expected in the early morning hours over the coastal cities which will give way to partly cloudy to cloudy situation later in the day. Light rain showers are not unlikely over Port Harcourt, Calabar and Yenagoa during the evening hours. Night time temperatures are expected to be in the range of 18-23oC.
NOTE: During this period of the year, the atmosphere is usually very dry, windy and dusty. Citizens should avoid substances that may ignite easily to reduce incidences of fire outbreaks.
