President Muhammadu Buhari has resumed work in Abuja after a short vacation, his Special Adviser (Media & Publicity) Femi Adesina said this evening.
“In compliance with Section 145 (1) of the Nigerian Constitution, President Buhari has dispatched a formal notice of his resumption of duty with effect from Thursday, February 11, 2016, to the Senate President and the Speaker of the House of Representatives,” Adesina said in a short statement.
Buhari was on vacation from February 5 to February 10, 2016, writing to the National Assembly to inform it that Vice President Yemi Osinbajo would act in his absence. He returned to the country yesterday from London, where he is believed to have spent his vacation.
One of the President’s first assignments upon resumption of work today was to receive Joachim Gauck, President of Federal Republic of Germany, in the State House, Abuja, for bilateral talks.
