Today’s weather: NiMET predicts poor visibility in some states, moderate visibility in others

The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMET) has made the following predictions about Nigeria’s weather condition for today, Thursday, February 11, 2016:

NORTHERN STATES: Dust haze situations will prevail over this region with poorer visibility of about 2km around Yelwa in Kebbi State. Night time temperatures are expected to be in the range of 10-17oC.

CENTRAL STATES: Jos and environs should have visibility value of 2,000m or less in dust haze. Other central states are expected to be in moderate visibility value.

SOUTHERN STATES: Hazy situation in visibility value of 1-3km are expected to prevail over this region.

NOTE: During this period of the year, the atmosphere is usually very dry, windy and dusty. Citizens should avoid substances that may ignite easily to reduce incidences of fire outbreaks.
