FG confirms 58 dead in Borno IDP suicide bombing

Officials of emergency and response agencies last night confirmed that 58 people were killed and 78 victims were injured after suicide bombers detonated explosive devices earlier in the day at the Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) camp in Dikwa, Borno State. Independent reports had put the death toll at over 70.

The incidents occurred when the IDPs queued up to collect their morning food in the camp which accommodates over 50,000 people displaced by the Boko Haram terrorism.

The Zonal Coordinator of National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) in North East, Mr. Mohammed Kanar, only confirmed that some of the dead have been buried while the injured have been moved to medical facilities for adequate treatments.
