The suit instituted against the appointment of Prof. Abel Idowu Olayinka as Vice-Chancellor, University of Ibadan, has been struck out by a court in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.

The Director of Public Information for the institution, Mr Olatunji Oladejo, confirmed the development. He said that the action was instituted by some aggrieved persons in the university.

“This will be the first time in the history of the university that the race for the position of UI Vice-Chancellor will end in court,” Prof. Olayinka said in his reaction to the judgement.
