The new Commander, 14 Brigade, Nigerian Army, Ohafia in Abia State, Brig. Gen. Lawrence Fejoku, has solicited the cooperation of officers and men of the brigade to assist him in achieving the purpose for its establishment.

A statement by the brigade’s spokesman, Major Sydney Mbaneme, quoted the new Commander as saying: “I call on the officers and men of this brigade to join hands with me to achieve the objectives of the Brigade as laid out by the Chief of Army Staff” while taking over the reins of power.

Prior to his present deployment, Fejoku was the Deputy Director, Military Secretary 2 at Army Headquarters, Abuja, and was also a member of Regular Course 39 of the Nigerian Defence Academy, Kaduna. He was commissioned into the pioneer Army Corps of Infantry in 1992.

The General has attended many courses at home and abroad and served as a seasoned Infantry Officer in various capacities across units and formations of the Nigerian Army.

Fejoku is replacing Brig. Gen. Anthony Omozoje who has proceeded to the Infantry Corps Centre, Jaji, as the Chief of Staff. The out-gone commander, while handing over to Fejoku, urged soldiers of the brigade to cooperate with the new Commander as they did to him during his tenure.

Mbaneme hinted that Fejoku would soon embark on farmiliarisation tours of military formations and, as well, meet with other security chiefs operating in Abia and provide a forum for them to jointly design strategies for maintaining peace in the state.
