Update: Missing Bristow Helicopter found crashed, 11 survivors reported

The Bristow helicopter that disappeared en route from Port Harcourt to Lagos has been confirmed to have crashed.

A Channel TV report said the helicopter has been found crashed around Murtala Mohammed Airport, Lagos.

The aircraft marked 5N BJQ, was flying at 1,500 feet with nine passengers and two crew members.

All eleven persons on board are reported to have been rescued.

Reacting to the incident, Bristow consultants described what happened as not a crash but a controlled ditch.
