The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMET) has made the following predictions about Nigeria’s weather condition for today, Saturday, January 16, 2016:
NORTHERN STATES: Sunny and hazy condition in moderate visibility values of 2-5km especially in places like Nguru, Kano, Katsina, Gusau and Sokoto. Night time temperatures are expected to be in the range of 12-18oC.
CENTRAL STATES: Abuja, Minna, Lokoja and Bida and environs should have moderate visibility value of 2-5km in dust haze. Night time temperatures are expected to be in the range of 15-22oC.
SOUTHERN STATES: Cloudy situation are expected over some places, with prospect of fog/mist patches affecting Lagos, Port Harcourt and Calabar in the morning. In the afternoon partly cloudy situation are anticipated. Night time temperatures are expected to be in the range of 18-25oC.
NOTE: During this period of the year, the atmosphere is usually very dry, windy and dusty. Citizens should avoid substances that may ignite easily to reduce incidences of fire outbreaks. Flight operations may be disrupted due to poor visibility in some airports across the country.
