The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMET) has made the following predictions about Nigeria’s weather condition for today, Friday, January 15, 2016:
NORTHERN STATES: The suspended dust in the atmosphere may reduce visibility to 2000m or less in places like Kano, Katsina and Sokoto. Night time temperatures are expected to be in the range of 10-15oC.
CENTRAL STATES: Improved visibility values of 5km or more are anticipated over this area. Night time temperatures are expected to be in the range of 13- 17oC.
SOUTHERN STATES: Increase cloudiness is expected over places like Ibadan, Akure, Oshogbo, Benin and Lagos in the morning. Partly cloudy situations are anticipated over most of the southern cities in the afternoon. Night time temperatures are expected to be in the range of 23-25oC.
NOTE: During this period of the year, the atmosphere is usually very dry, windy and dusty. Citizens should avoid substances that may ignite easily to reduce incidences of fire outbreaks. Flight operations may be disrupted due to poor visibility in some airports across the country.
