Revealed: Why Buhari fired Head of the Civil Service of the Federation

Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Barrister Danladi Kifasi, has lost his job. Indcations that his time is up came earlier today when senior directors in the civil service received a memo directing tem not to henceforth route their memos to and through Kifasi any longer.

Ahead of the official announcement of his sack, informed sources disclosed that Mr Kifasi did not commit any crime but is being sacrificed in an effort to ensure the Federal Character Principle as enshrined in the Nigerian Constitution is not violated.

Both Kifasi the recently appointed Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Babachir David Lawal, hail from the same North-East zone – Kifasi from Taraba State and Lawal from Adamawa State.

A PRNigeria report said: “Barrister Danladi Kifasi who had served as Permanent Secretary in several ministries including Federal Ministry of Finance and Petroleum has prepared for smooth handover in the event of the announcement of new HOS who may likely from the Southern part of Nigeria.”

News Express reports that President Muhammadu Buhari, who is yet to have a cabinet, has been under fire for making a rash of appointments that violate the Federal Character Principle.
