Seven people have been killed and 17 others injured after three female suicide bombers on this morning detonated Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) at Umarari Bayan Waya area of Mulai Village in Maiduguri, the Borno State capital.
The blast was reported to have occurred few minutes past 5am when Muslim faithful were getting ready to for their early morning prayer.
The explosion claimed the lives of the suicide bombers and 4 others while 17 injured are currently receiving treatment at the Specialist Hospital.
This is coming hours after many worshippers were feared dead in a bomb explosion in a mosque at Mulai area of Maiduguri.
The bomb went off when worshippers were observing their Magrib prayers.
The police has confirmed residents’ belief that the attack was carried out by a suicide bomber.
The police said in a statement by the Commissioner of Police that “at about 6.35 PM on Thursday, two suspected suicide bombers detonated IEDS in and outside a mosque at Mulai.
