The Senate, today, cleared the first set of ministerial nominees screened by it, thus giving them the green light to serve in the cabinet of President Muhammadu Buhari.
The successful nominees, who were subjected to grilling on the floor of the red chamber, are Udoma Udo Udoma; Kayode Fayemi; Ogbonnaya Onu; Audu Ogbeh; Osagie Ehanire; Abdulrahaman Dambazzau; Lai Mohammed; Aminat Mohammed; Suleiman Adamu and Ibrahim Usman Jibril.
The nominees, who fielded questions on their careers and antecedents, gave their opinions on problems facing different sectors of the economy and what should be done to solve them.
The nominees all promised to diligently serve the nation to the best of their abilities, adding that they would be committed and patriotic to the assignments to be given to them by the Nigerian President.
The remaining 26 ministerial nominees are expected to be screened by the Senate tomorrow and on Thursday.
