Nigeria’s Ambassador to the United States of America, Prof. Adebowale Adefuye, has een reported dead.
A message trending online from around midnight Nigerian time said he died after some discomfort.
Akinyemi Olusegun Fasakin, writing from the e-mail address yemifash64@gmail.com, announced on a popular Yahoo community: “The Nigerian Ambassador to USA Prof. Adebowale Adefuye died earlier today in Washington DC after a slight discomfort.
“May his soul rest in peace.”
Tributes have been pouring in for the diplomat. Writing from Lakewood NJ, USA,
Abdul-Rauf Adeola Popoola said: “Still sounds untrue to believe, but we have been here before, and oft-repeatingly shall be nudged by such happening!!”
He added: “May GOD keep us reminded to be in constant preparation for our own souls.
“I pray his family, friends and associates, and several of us that related with him personally, shall remember the good man he was and the great service he gave our Nation.
May GOD grant his loved ones the strength and the fortitude to bear his departure and continue his good works. Aameen.”
