Two suicide bomb attacks on the General Hospital Molai, in Maiduguri, the Borno State capital, left two dead and two others injured.
Witnesses quoted by Channels Television disclosed that the two suicide bombers disguised as patients and attempted to gain entry into the hospital through two different entrances but were stopped for the routine security check.
“The first assailant detonated his strapped explosives, injuring two persons in the process while his accomplice also blew himself up few seconds after,” the report said.
The attacks occurred when Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, was visiting Internally Displaced Persons at Dalori camp in Maiduguri.
Molai is barely ten kilometres away from the city centre.
