The Nigerian Army has slated July 1 to 6 for the Nigerian Army Day Celebration (NACDEL 2015), with the theme ‘Equipping the Nigerian Army to Enhance Operational Efficiency in Combating Threats to National Security’.

Acting Director of Army Public Relations, Sani Usman, said in a statement issued on Monday in Abuja that the activities to mark the NADCEL 2015 will kick off on Wednesday, July 1, with news briefing by the Chief of Army Staff, Lt.-Gen. Kenneth Minimah, in Abuja.

It further said there would be Juma’at prayers on Friday, July 3, at all the Nigerian Army formation headquarters nationwide; and inter-denominational Church service on Sunday, July 5, at all formations and units of the Army.

Also, there would be two-day free medical services organised for the Internally Displaced Persons during the celebration which would be carried out by the Nigerian Army Medical Corps.

“There will also be wreath-laying ceremony at the Military Cemetery, and visit to hospital patients at the 7 Division Hospital and Medical Services.

“The grand finale of NADCEL 2015 will be Chief of Army Staff’s address to troops and decoration of troops with medals,” the statement added.
