The Police in Borno on Sunday cautioned residents of Maiduguri to be vigilant, following increased suicide bombing in the capital city.
Mr Aderemi Opadokun, the Commissioner of Police in the state, gave the caution in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Maiduguri.
“Yes, we had a twin explosion at the gate of the General hospital, Molai, at about 1500 hours on Saturday in which five persons, including two suspected female suicide bombers, died. Ten other persons were also injured in the attack,” Opadokun said.
He said another group of two suspected suicide bombers detonated Improvised Explosive Devise (IED) at Jakana Town around 1700 hours.
“Two suspected female suicide bombers detonated their IEDs when challenged by security personnel at Jakana town while waiting for a vehicle. Only the bombers died in the explosion,” adding that the police had begun investigation into the incidents. (NAN)
