At least 10 innocent souls have been reported dead after dare-devil armed this morning raided banks in the Ikorodu area of Lagos.

In a distress message on his Facebook wall an eyewitness, Taiwo Odusola, said: “We are serious at war in Ikorodu right now. Armed robbery is taking place at Ebute by Dangote; they are robbing banks. I am at the scene as I’m posting this message. Over 10 innocent souls lost already and still counting.”

Responding swiftly, the police went in pursuit of the robbers, announcing on its Twitter handle: @PoliceNG said: “Our officers are responding to armed robbery at #Ogolonto Ikorodu Lagos. Citizens are advised to stay off vicinity; Lagos now secured after our officers responded to Bank robbery this morning. Police units remain on ground.”
