Actress and filmmaker Caroline Hutchings has announced her departure from the reality television show The Real Housewives of Lagos (RHOL).
Hutchings shared the news in a lengthy statement on her Instagram page, saying her time on the show had come to an end.
“The show is over for me. I have moved on,” she wrote, adding that she is focused on living her life, pursuing her interests and building a legacy for her children.
The actress, who has spent over two decades in the entertainment industry, said she has appeared in more than 60 films and produced and shot three award-winning films, both locally and internationally.
She also addressed the controversies and disputes surrounding the show, insisting that she does not want to be associated with other cast members’ personal issues.
“I made it clear repeatedly on the show… that I do not do cliques or friendships on RHOL,” Hutchings stated, adding that she addresses issues with people directly.
According to her, she found it upsetting that her career and achievements had been reduced to 13 episodes of a reality television show.
“It is 2026. Let it stop,” she said.
Hutchings expressed gratitude to the producers, streaming platform Showmax and African Magic for the experience, particularly her participation in the third season.
However, she left the door open to a possible return, saying that if she decides to participate in another season, the decision would be hers alone. (The Nation)
