The arrest, yesterday, of immediate past governor of Imo State, Mr Ihedi Ohakim, by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) was informed by his refusal to honour the agency’s invitation, it has been disclosed.
Ohakim was picked after he failed to honour an invitation on Wednesday to clarify and answer questions on an ongoing investigation into allegations of corruption and embezzlement while he was in office, EFCC said.
EFCC spokesman Wilson Uwujaren confirmed that Ohakim, who governed Imo from 2007 to 2011, was however allowed to go home after five hours.
