The Nigeria Police Force has set in motion the machinery for the promotion of deserving junior police officers who have obtained higher educational qualifications. This was disclosed yesterday by Force Public Relations Officer, CP Emmanuel C.S. Ojukwu.
The Police Spokesman said in a statement in Abuja that Inspector-General of Police, IGP Solomon Arase, has constituted a high-powered committee to screen all such junior for appointment into the rank of Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) and Inspectorate cadres.
Ojukwu said that the State Command interviews are slated for July 1 to 6, while Zonal screening holds from July 16 to 22.
“The exercise is part of the welfare package aimed at boosting the morale of the Police Force,” Ojukwu said. “The IGP, while reiterating that the result of the interview must reach Force Headquarters on or before 28th July, 2015, emphasised on the need to make the exercise free, fair and transparent,” he added.
