Ambode begins dismantling of Fashola’s structures, dissolves boards of parastatals and agencies

Less than three weeks into his administration, Lagos State Governor, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode, has moved swiftly to dismantle the structures put in place by his immediate predecessor, Mr. Babatunde Fashola. Fashola had been rumoured to be rooting for another aspirant but had to accept Ambode, and work for his victory in the April 11 governorship election after he won the party primaries.

A statement from the Alausa seat of power has it thatAmbode, who is backed by Lagos political godfather Bola Tinubu, has approved the dissolution of all boards of parastatals and agencies of government in the state with immediate effect. It said that Governor Ambode commended the modest contributions of the members of the dissolved boards and wished them well in their future endeavours.

The statement however explained that the Civil Service Commission, the Judicial Service Commission and the State Independent Electoral Commission are exempted.
