Boko Haram: Army announces partial lifting of Maiduguri curfew

The 7 Division Nigerian Army has announced that the curfew currently in place in Maiduguri, capital of Borno State, has been “partially lifted for only today 15 May 2015 from 1200hrs (12pm) to 1700hrs (5pm).”

“However, vehicular movement is still restricted within the city,” Colonel Tukur Gusau, Deputy Director, Army Public Relations, 7 Div, said in a statement.

“Please be vigilant and report any security breach to the nearest military establishment. Thank you for your support and understanding,” he added.

News Express reports that the 24 hours curfew was imposed yesterday morning following Boko Haram’s failed bid to invade Maiduguri on Wednesday night, during which the terrorists were repelled by gallant Nigerian troops.
