President Muhammadu Buhari’s re-election on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) during the February 23, 2019 presidential ballot has been upheld by the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal.

The tribunal, which gave its judgement late Wednesday morning at the Court of Appeal Headquarters in Abuja, said that the petitioner, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), had failed to prove the claims based on which he asked for the voiding of Buhari’s election.

The tribunal led by Justice Garba Mohammed consequently dismissed the petition “in its entirety”. It however refrained from awarding costs to any of the parties.
