Sacked Rep member Lazarus Ogbee
The member representing Ezza South and Ikwo Federal Constituency of Ebonyi State in the House of Representatives, Hon. Lazarus Ogbee, has urged his constituency to be calm and resolute, as he will reclaim his mandate at the Court of Appeal.
Ogbee, in a statement, noted that though the tribunal ruled against him yesterday, Monday, September 9, 2019, his constituency should not panic as the appellate court will restore the mandate which, he insisted, was overwhelmingly given to him by the people of Ezza South and Ikwo Federal constituency on February 23 National Assembly election in the state.
The lawmaker alleged that the tribunal judgment was a “judicial gang-up” to steal the voices of his constituency which they displayed on the poll, maintaining that the judges displayed “biasness” throughout the proceedings.
He however commended the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the leader of the party in the state, Engr. David Umahi, for their resilience and support for him, adding that he will continue to pursue the case till the mandate given to him under the party is restored.
Ogbee said: “There is no cause for alarm. I will reclaim my mandate at the Court of Appeal. I am strong and still committed. The tribunal judgment is not the final. I am still the member of the Federal legislature until the Appellate Court rules on the judgment of the tribunal. I want to thank my counsels led by Bar. R. O. U. Nweze for their diligence and good work, and I want to enjoin them to maintain the trajectory as they will certainly get victory at the Appeal Court.”
