Renown comedian and Theater Arts practitioner Afeez Oyetoro popularly known as Saka, recently celebrated 16 years of marriage to his wife, Olaide.

The union has produced three children, namely, Abdullahi, Rufiat and Munim.

But the 56-year-old lecturer at Adeniran Ogunsaya College of Education, Lagos says it was not an easy ride for his wife to get to his heart.

According to the Obafemi Awolowo University graduate and Master’s degree holder from the University of Ibadan, now pursuing his PhD from same institution, he put many huddles on the way just to know if her fiance then had genuine love for him.

“When we were dating, I used to visit her and after two or three minutes, I would tell her I had a rehearsal. I was doing this to know if she would complain or react negatively to my action. It was as though I was testing her to see her reaction,” said the light-skinned veteran actor.

And did she pass the tests?

“But she never reacted negatively, instead she always prayed for me. If I stayed at her place for an hour, she would ask me if I didn’t have any rehearsal. That gave me the impression that she was going to be a good wife,” said the ever smiling Nollywood star.

Saka says his wife has not disappointed him ever since they got married and wishes he got married earlier than he did.

“Apart from my mum, my wife knows and understands me very well,” he added.

And today the two love birds are celebrating the union.
